Guyana Amazon Warriors boosted their playoff hopes with a stunning 3-wicket win over Trinbago Knight Riders in CPL 2025. Kieron Pollard smashed a quickfire half-century, but the Warriors held their nerve. In the end, Dwaine Pretorius delivered the final blows to seal victory.

Guyana Amazon Warriors powered by Hope & Hetmyer 💪

The Warriors lost Moeen Ali and Keemo Paul inside the first three overs. However, Shai Hope (53) and Shimron Hetmyer (49) steadied the innings with an 83-run stand. Their partnership kept the team ahead of the asking rate. Even so, Sunil Narine (2/12) broke the stand and gave TKR a way back. As a result, the chase became tense again.

Guyana Amazon Warriors finish strong with Pretorius 🚀

The target looked tough with 38 needed from 18 balls. Nevertheless, Dwaine Pretorius shifted momentum in style. He smashed back-to-back sixes in a 19-run over against Andre Russell. Meanwhile, Romario Shepherd also cleared the ropes before getting out. In the end, Pretorius remained unbeaten on 26 off 14 balls. Therefore, when Pollard tried to defend the last over, Pretorius struck a massive six. Finally, Gudakesh Motie hit the winning run.

Pollard’s fireworks not enough 💥

Trinbago Knight Riders struggled early as Colin Munro and Nicholas Pooran fell quickly. In fact, Pretorius dismissed Munro while Moeen Ali bowled Pooran with a ripper. Later, Darren Bravo (33) and Kaecy Carty built a steady stand. However, the biggest impact came from Pollard. His 54* off just 18 balls included five sixes and five fours. As a result, TKR finished on 167/5. Yet, despite Pollard’s brilliance, the total was not enough against the Warriors’ late charge.
