Trinbago Knight Riders continued their brilliant run in CPL 2025, claiming their fourth straight victory. As a result, they opened up a two-point lead at the top of the table. At the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, TKR comfortably chased down 163 to beat Guyana Amazon Warriors by six wickets.

Trinbago Knight Riders Bowlers Dominate Early 🎯

After choosing to bowl first, Nicholas Pooran’s side made a strong start. Mohammad Amir struck early to dismiss Gudakesh Motie, while Akeal Hosein quickly removed Ben McDermott. Soon after, Terrance Hinds added to the pressure by sending back Moeen Ali. Consequently, Guyana slipped to 37/3 at the end of the PowerPlay.

Skipper Shai Hope then tried to rebuild with Hassan Khan. However, Hosein returned in his final over and dealt another blow, removing Shimron Hetmyer along with one more batter. As a result, Guyana were left reeling at 70/5.

Hope showed some resistance, scoring 39 off 29 balls. He combined with Romario Shepherd for a 38-run stand. Nevertheless, Sunil Narine broke the partnership while maintaining superb control, giving away only 17 runs in his four overs. Hope’s unusual dismissal, where he knocked over his own stumps attempting a reverse sweep, further hurt Guyana’s progress.

In the final overs, debutant Quentin Simpson and Dwayne Pretorius provided late momentum. Their 36-run burst ensured Guyana finished with 163/9, though the total always looked under par.

Trinbago Knight Riders Batting Firepower 🔥

In reply, Alex Hales and Colin Munro came out firing. Together, they smashed 77 runs in the PowerPlay and carried the score to 115 without loss in just 10 overs. Therefore, TKR were firmly in control of the chase.

Munro made 52 off 30 balls before falling to Imran Tahir. The veteran leg-spinner briefly shifted momentum, taking three wickets in a single over — Munro, Pooran on the first ball, and Keacy Carty with a clever wrong ’un.

Even so, Hales kept the chase alive with a brilliant 74 off 43 balls, striking seven sixes. Eventually, he too fell to Tahir, but by then the match was effectively done.

Finally, Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell ensured a smooth finish. The duo guided TKR to victory in the 18th over, securing a comfortable win with 16 balls to spare.
