Zak Crawley scored an unbeaten 67 to power Northern Superchargers to a dominant eight-wicket win over Welsh Fire in The Hundred 2025. The England opener put recent Test struggles behind him and combined with Dawid Malan for a 91-run stand. The chase of 144 looked simple from the start.
🔥 Zak Crawley Leads from the Front
Superchargers chose to bowl first, and the call paid off instantly. Matthew Potts removed Steve Smith and Luke Wells in successive deliveries, swinging the momentum. Although Jonny Bairstow countered with a fluent 42, his dismissal halted Welsh Fire’s progress.
From then on, the bowlers kept control. Adil Rashid (2/25) and Imad Wasim (2 wickets) maintained pressure with accurate spells. Consequently, Welsh Fire failed to find late boundaries and finished on 143/9 from their 100 balls.

In reply, Malan started with a crisp boundary, and Crawley followed with a towering six over deep backward square leg. The pair rotated the strike well and punished loose deliveries. As a result, Riley Meredith’s first over went for plenty, with both openers hitting him for sixes.
However, Meredith struck back by dismissing Malan (41) and Michael Pepper quickly. Even so, the Superchargers stayed ahead of the rate. Harry Brook arrived and smashed his first ball for six, showing complete control. Crawley finished unbeaten on 67, while Brook’s 25* off 15 balls sealed the win with 11 balls to spare.
