Bumrah set to return as India gear up for a must-win battle in the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. Trailing 1-2 in the series, India now look to their pace spearhead to shift momentum.

Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj confirmed Bumrah’s availability, clearing days of uncertainty. The nine-day gap since Lord’s allowed Bumrah to rest and prepare for this high-stakes game.

On Monday, Bumrah held a long discussion with selector Ajit Agarkar and head coach Gautam Gambhir. He then bowled a brief spell and followed it up with a batting session. Rain threatens three of the five match days, which might reduce Bumrah’s load and increase his chances of playing the final Test at The Oval.

🔁 Bumrah Set to Lead as India Rework Bowling Strategy

India may reshuffle their bowling lineup due to injury concerns. Akash Deep, who starred in Birmingham, currently deals with a groin niggle. He warmed up with a shortened run-up but skipped full nets. The team plans to reassess him a day before the match.

To cover potential gaps, selectors brought in Anshul Kamboj. The 24-year-old from Haryana impressed in India ‘A’ matches against the England Lions. He landed in Manchester on Sunday and jumped straight into action, bowling at full pace under the eyes of Gambhir and bowling coach Morne Morkel.

Prasidh Krishna, who featured in the first two Tests, also remains in the mix. Though he leaked runs in Birmingham, captain Shubman Gill had instructed him to bowl short in a specific phase. During the latest nets, Prasidh hit good rhythm and beat the bat consistently against Gill, Pant, and Sudharsan.

🧤 Pant Regains Fitness as Bumrah Set to Inspire Comeback

India welcomed more good news with Rishabh Pant recovering well from his niggle. He participated in wicketkeeping drills and batted fluently. Only a few deliveries that rose sharply posed discomfort.

If Pant keeps wickets, India can retain Sai Sudharsan in the XI. Otherwise, Dhruv Jurel could take the gloves in place of the injured Nitish Reddy.

With Bumrah set to lead the bowling and Pant close to full fitness, India enter the Test with belief and intent to level the series.
