IPL 2025 Captains’ Meeting Set for Mumbai franchises are set to convene in Mumbai this Thursday for a crucial pre-season meeting. As per recent reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will host the meeting at its headquarters at noon. Alongside the captains, team managers have also been invited to participate in the session.

According to official communications from the BCCI and IPL management, this one-hour briefing at the Cricket Centre will focus on updates, new rules, and key changes for IPL 2025. Following the meeting, franchise representatives will engage in sponsor-related activities at the Taj Hotel. The entire event will span approximately four hours, concluding with the traditional pre-season photo shoot featuring all ten captains

Unlike previous seasons, where such meetings and photoshoots were conducted in the city hosting the IPL opener, this year’s decision to hold it at the BCCI office hints at potentially significant developments beyond regular procedural discussions.

Delhi Capitals recently confirmed Axar Patel as their new captain, while the other franchise leaders include:

  • Mumbai Indians (MI) – Hardik Pandya
  • Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) – Pat Cummins
  • Chennai Super Kings (CSK) – Ruturaj Gaikwad
  • Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) – Rajat Patidar
  • Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) – Rishabh Pant
  • Punjab Kings (PBKS) – Shreyas Iyer
  • Rajasthan Royals (RR) – Sanju Samson
  • Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) – Ajinkya Rahane
  • Gujarat Titans (GT) – Shubman Gill

Most team captains have already joined their respective squads, including players who recently featured in theChampions Trophy. Pat Cummins, who arrived in Hyderabad on Sunday, has committed to playing the entire IPL season despite Australia’s involvement in the World Test Championship final at Lord’s on June 11—just two weeks after the IPL 2024 final on May 25.

IPL 2025 Season Opener Details

The much-awaited IPL 2024 kicks off on March 22 at Eden Gardens, Kolkata, where defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
