Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have appointed former West Indies fast bowler Ottis Gibson as Assistant Coach for IPL 2025. The 55-year-old joins a coaching team featuring Chandrakant Pandit (Head Coach), Dwayne Bravo (Mentor), Bharat Arun (Bowling Coach), and Carl Crowe (Spin Bowling Coach).

Gibson has a rich coaching background. He previously served as England’s bowling coach and led West Indies to their first T20 World Cup title in 2012. He has also coached South Africa, Bangladesh, Yorkshire, and various T20 teams.

Defending champions KKR revamped their backroom staff after Gautam Gambhir left to coach India’s senior men’s team. Abhishek Nayar and Ryan ten Doeschate also joined him.

KKR will begin their title defense against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at Eden Gardens on March 22. Ajinkya Rahane will captain the side, with Venkatesh Iyer as vice-captain.
