This initiative will recognize players who have scored a century or taken five wickets in an innings in international cricket at the venue, adding to the stadium’s historic significance.

This practice is already a tradition at legendary cricketing venues such as Lord’s Cricket Ground in London and Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Lord’s, often regarded as the ‘Home of Cricket,’ has long maintained an honours board in its Pavilion, commemorating remarkable Test and ODI performances. Likewise, Wankhede Stadium features an honours board inside its players’ dressing room.

Brabourne Stadium, originally built in 1936-37 to be the ‘Lord’s of India,’ has witnessed several historic cricketing moments. The introduction of the honours board will further solidify its reputation as a venue of excellence and prestige.

In an official notice titled ‘Cricket Honours Board Installation’ on February 3, 2025, the club’s officiating secretary, Commodore (Retd) Atul Kulkarni, informed members about the project. Work will take place daily from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM outside the Ground Floor Card Room.

Acknowledging any potential disruption, the notice stated, “We regret any inconvenience caused due to noise during the installation. We appreciate members’ cooperation and support.”

This honours board will serve as a lasting tribute to cricketing legends, ensuring that Brabourne Stadium continues to be a beacon of cricketing history and inspiration for future generations
