SRH delivered a dominant all-round display to beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 65 runs in a high-scoring IPL 2026 clash at Eden Gardens. After being asked to bat first, the visitors posted a commanding 226/8 in 20 overs. Thereafter, the bowlers stepped up brilliantly and bundled KKR out for 161 in just 16 overs.

As a result, the Hyderabad side secured one of their most convincing wins of the season and strengthened their position in the points table.

🔥 SRH openers give the perfect launch

To begin with, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma provided the visitors with a flying start. Both batters attacked the KKR bowlers right from the powerplay and ensured the run rate stayed above 10.

Head smashed 46 off 21 balls, including six fours and three sixes. Meanwhile, Abhishek looked equally aggressive and scored 48 from 21 deliveries.

Consequently, the opening partnership gave the side the ideal platform for a big total.

💥 Middle order powers past 220

After the openers departed, Heinrich Klaasen took control in the middle overs. He rotated the strike smartly and punished every loose delivery.

Eventually, Klaasen completed a superb 52 off 35 balls, which kept the momentum firmly with the visitors.

In addition, Nitish Kumar Reddy played a vital hand with 39 off 24 balls. His late boundaries and clever strike rotation helped the Hyderabad side finish strongly.

Therefore, the total of 226/8 always looked competitive.

⚡ KKR start fast but SRH regain control

In reply, KKR began the chase in explosive fashion. Finn Allen, in particular, looked dangerous as he smashed 28 off just 7 balls.

As a result, the home side raced away in the powerplay and briefly kept the chase alive.

However, the visitors quickly pulled the game back with timely wickets.

First, Ajinkya Rahane fell cheaply. Soon after, Cameron Green’s run-out shifted the momentum.

Although Angkrish Raghuvanshi scored 52 off 29 balls and Rinku Singh added 35, KKR failed to build the long partnership needed.
