Shai Hope produced a brilliant unbeaten 62 to guide Guyana Amazon Warriors to a 4-wicket victory over Barbados Royals in CPL 2025. Shai Hope and Pretorius Revive Warriors ⚡
The Warriors had a disastrous start. Ben McDermott, Moeen Ali, Shimron Hetmyer, and Hassan Khan all fell cheaply. Therefore, they slumped to 30/4 inside five overs.
However, Shai Hope and Dwaine Pretorius turned the game with a crucial 89-run partnership. Their stand came in just 57 balls. Pretorius counterattacked with 53 from 34, while Hope played a steady anchor role. Consequently, the pressure shifted back onto the Royals.
Shai Hope Anchors as Sampson Finishes It 🔥
After Pretorius departed, Eathan Bosch removed Romario Shepherd. At that point, the Royals sensed a comeback. Instead, Quentin Sampson struck a fiery 33 off 20 balls to keep the chase alive.
Meanwhile, Shai Hope stayed composed at the other end. The Warriors required six off the final over. Finally, Sampson launched a six over deep square leg, sealing the match with two balls to spare.
Shai Hope Overshadows Powell’s Late Heroics 💪
The Royals also struggled early. Quinton de Kock and Kareem Alleyne fell for single digits. In addition, Brandon King scored a fluent 39 before Imran Tahir dismissed him.
From 69/5, the Royals looked in deep trouble. However, Rassie van der Dussen (45) and Rovman Powell (50)* added 82 runs to revive the innings. Powell smashed six sixes in his 28-ball knock. Even so, his fireworks could not prevent defeat as Hope’s calm chase stole the show.
