Jacob Bethell will captain England’s T20I squad against Ireland next month. At 21, he becomes England’s youngest international captain, breaking Monty Bowden’s record from 1888/89. Moreover, this is a major boost for England’s young talent.
Before flying to Dublin, England faces South Africa in three ODIs starting September 7. Following that, a three-match T20I series will take place at home. Harry Brook will captain these home series, while Marcus Trescothick will serve as head coach for the Ireland tour.
