Nurul Hasan has made a stunning return as the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 25-member preliminary squad for the Asia Cup 2025 and the three-match T20I series against the Netherlands. The wicketkeeper-batter, who was previously out of the national setup, has now earned a deserved comeback following consistent performances in domestic cricket.

Meanwhile, Mossadek Hossain continues to miss out. Although he has delivered regularly in local competitions, the selectors have once again decided to overlook him. Furthermore, he was not even included in the Bangladesh A team touring Australia, which adds to the disappointment.

🔄 Nurul Hasan’s Inclusion Reflects Selection Shift

Nurul Hasan’s inclusion is not only surprising but also significant. It reflects a renewed focus on rewarding domestic performers. While he had been out of favor for months, his persistence has finally paid off.

In contrast, Mehidy Hasan Miraz remains in the squad despite concerns. Although his recent form in T20Is has been underwhelming—especially during the Sri Lanka tour and against Pakistan—the selectors have decided to stick with his experience.

✈️ Nurul Hasan Among Five Set to Miss Early Camp

Nurul Hasan, along with Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan, Saif Hassan, Hasan Mahmud, and Naim Sheikh, will travel to Australia for the Darwin T20 Series 2025, which begins on August 9. As a result, these five players will miss most of the preparatory activities in Mirpur.

Following the T20 series, they will also take part in a four-day match against South Australia, which marks Bangladesh’s second appearance in the tournament since their debut in 2024.

🏋️ Camp Schedule Moves Ahead Without Nurul Hasan

According to the BCB, the rest of the players will report for a fitness camp at SBNCS, Mirpur starting August 6. Then, from August 15, skill-based sessions will begin. Eventually, the camp will shift to Sylhet from August 20.

Moreover, the Netherlands squad is expected to arrive on August 26, and they will play three T20Is before departing on September 4.
