A sensational century by Priyansh Arya powered Punjab Kings to a high-scoring win over Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025. Despite putting up their best total of the season—201/5—CSK were left chasing shadows as Arya’s blazing knock of 103 off just 39 balls stole the spotlight.

PowerPlay Blitz from Punjab

The game began with a bang as Arya smashed a six off the very first delivery. While PBKS lost three early wickets, Arya was in full flow, reaching his fifty in just 19 balls. His aggression propelled the team to 75/3 in the first six overs—setting the tone for a big total.

Middle Overs Shift Momentum

Ashwin briefly pulled things back with two quick wickets, removing Wadhera and Maxwell. But Arya and Shashank Singh counterattacked with flair, clearing the ropes regularly. Arya’s stunning century came with a hat-trick of sixes, and Punjab added 89 runs during this phase to take control.

With Arya dismissed, CSK had a chance to restrict the opposition. But Shashank Singh and Marco Jansen kept the pressure on, guiding Punjab past 200. CSK’s death bowling misfired once again, and they conceded 55 runs in the final five overs.

Chennai’s Promising Start

Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra gave the visitors a rare solid start. They added 59 runs in the PowerPlay without losing a wicket, giving the chase early momentum.

Fightback from the Middle Order

Rachin’s dismissal right after the PowerPlay, followed by Gaikwad’s failure, stalled CSK’s progress. Dube and Conway steadied the ship briefly, and a big over from Jansen revived their hopes.

Late Drama Falls Short

Dube’s dismissal by a knuckle ball from Ferguson tilted the game Punjab’s way. Dhoni lit up the final overs with some big hits and brought the equation down to 28 off 6. However, he fell on the first ball of the final over, ending CSK’s chances.
