Tanzim Hasan Sakib has earned his first Test call-up for Bangladesh’s upcoming home series against Zimbabwe. The 22-year-old fast bowler has already featured in 28 white-ball games for the national side. Now, he prepares to showcase his skills in the red-ball arena.
However, Bangladesh will be without Taskin Ahmed, who suffered a left Achilles tendon injury. As a result, the team loses one of its most experienced fast-bowling options.
Meanwhile, Litton Das is unavailable due to his PSL commitments. He will represent Karachi Kings during this period instead of playing in the Tests.
In contrast, the selectors dropped Shahadat Hossain, Hasan Murad, and Shoriful Islam from the squad that toured the West Indies in late 2024. These decisions reflect a fresh approach to squad building.
Furthermore, veteran batter Mushfiqur Rahim remains a vital part of the Test setup. He retired from ODIs after the Champions Trophy, yet continues to serve in the longer format.
The first Test begins on April 20 at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Subsequently, the second Test will start on April 28 in Chattogram.
