Liam Dawson has been recalled to England’s Test squad for the fourth Test against India at Old Trafford. He replaces Shoaib Bashir, who is out with a fractured finger.

🏏 Liam Dawson’s Test Comeback After 7 Years

The 35-year-old last played a Test in 2017 against South Africa. Since then, Dawson has starred for Hampshire, winning the PCA Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024.
Despite just three Tests and seven wickets so far, his domestic form made his return hard to ignore.

🤕 Shoaib Bashir’s Injury Opens the Door

Bashir suffered a finger fracture that ruled him out of the series. His absence allowed Dawson’s experience and current form to come into play.
